SUSRET LIKOVNE KOLONIJE SA  PUBLIKOM

Na Keju Nikole Paligorića u Univerzitetskoj biblioteci "Nikola Tesla" već dve godine čertnaest niških slikara starije i mlađe generacije (od kojih je sedmoro učestvovalo oba puta)  u okviru Likovne kolonije deset dana su crtali šta im duša želela, a  ruka ostvarila. Niš Art fondacija im je predložila mali izazov. Prve 2006. godine predloženo im je da upotrebe najviše dve boje, crnu i još jednu hromatsku, a druge 2007.  da se posluže samo crnom, s tim da se bela boja ne smatra bojom. Motiv, tehnika i podloga su bili prepušteni slikarima.

Neko će reći to je ograničenje slobode protivno principu umetnosti. Nisu u pravu… Koliko je dobrih i vrhunskih pesama napisano u obliku soneta, toj najstrožijoj pesničkoj formi! Koliko je značajnih kompozicija stvoreno na određenu melodiju! Koliko je vajara i slikara dalo svoje vrhunske rezultate na temu zadatih portreta!

Da je to tačno govori u ova  izložba crteža stvorenih tokom tih deset dana prve i deset dana druge godine. Apstraktni i figuralni, dekorativni i škrti, svi ovi crteži izlaze ovom izložbom pred publiku da svaka predstavi sebe i svog stvaraoca u galerijima u Nišu i u Beogradu ("Tošin Bunar"), koje obe pripadaju "Fabrici duvana" u sastavu "Filip Moris International".

Publika i kritika, kao njen sastavni deo, reći će konačnu reč o vrednosti još jedne inicijative Niš Art Fondacije na planu umetnosti.

The meeting of Art Colony with the public

The premises of University Library "Nikola Tesla", on Nikole Paligorića Quay, have hosted the Art Colony for the past two years, within which fourteen Niš painters of both younger and older generations (seven of whom have participated both times) have drawn for ten days whatever their heart desired and their hand delivered. Niš Art Foundation suggested a small challenge to them. For the first Colony in 2006 they were suggested to use a maximum of two colors, black and another chromatic color, and for the second 2007 Colony, they were asked to use just black, having in mind that white is not considered a color.  The motif, technique and the base were left for the painters to decide upon themselves.

One would say this is a limitation of art, directly in opposition to the very principle of art. They are not right, we believe… How many premium poems have been written as sonnets, the strictest of all poetic forms! How many important music pieces have been created following a given melody! How many sculptors or painters have produced their best works by doing commissioned portraits!

To prove this point we shall conduct this exhibition of drawings created during the ten days of last year’s as well as the ten days of this year’s Colony. Abstract and figural, decorative and poor in detail, all these drawings shall present themselves and their creators to the public in galleries in Niš and Belgrade ("Tošin Bunar"), both galleries belonging to DIN "Fabrika duvana" an affiliate of "Philip Morris International".

The public and the critics, who are its integral part, shall have the final word about the value of yet another initiative of Niš Art Foundation in the field of arts.
